This is a tribe (for a lack of better words) in India that use snake charming as a livelihood. The children grow up without the fear of the snake. This group of people serve a very important function of removing dangerous snakes from the populace, preventing fatal bites. No much different from the tribe of rat-catchers in India.
Josie, it’s not a constricting snake. Therefore, it cannot wrap itself tightly enough to do any harm. Constricting snakes do not use venom, venomous snakes do not constrict. Good heavens people, read a book.
Also, if the snake has been defanged then no problem! It would be the same as letting a declawed cat bat at your kid.
Most Of You Are Pretty Freakin Retarded, YES Maybe Its Fangs Were Removed But As You Can See In The End Of The Video The Cobra Wrapped Around The Baby’s Neck. Either Way, Its Not At All Riqht To Do That To A Helpless Baby.
I’ve seen this video…no worries, the cobra’s fangs were removed…most cobra’s used as entertainment have them removed…A cobra without it’s fangs, and without its venom is harmless…it’s not a constricting snake..educate yourselves people
also, in reference to “Do you notice that all the stuff that is dabgerous to babies is done by f – ing foreginers!!!!!!!!!!” Do you have any idea how many cases of child abuse , really fucking horrific stuff, infant abandonment and down right cruelty is committed every year by good ol’ white ass, red blooded Americans? Humans suck, don’t blame it on race color or religion.
Still shocked that this sort of open hate of other races exists in what is referred to as the ‘civilized’ world. The irony is that they probably hate you because your a fucking ignorant racist. Blindly making accusations and statements about things and cultures you know nothing about. And that is what Americans are known for, because of people like you. Where do I plug in my computer in my “mud hut” btw?
It’s not bigot it’s american. you don’t like it go back to whever coubtry you crawled out of. Sorry they don’t have cribs in your mud huts in Kenya. As soon as I can stop pressing one for english I’ll no longer be a racist.
Not to mention at the end it wraps around the babies neck right before the camera shut off. that kid probably dies but like all foreigners do they just probably popped out 12 more and moved to America so they could live free on welfare like the rest of them do!!
Its hard to tell, but I think I would lean towards sewn mouth. At no point in the video to you see the cobras mouth open,it seems only to be whacking its head on the baby and snakes have more than 2 teeth, if it had struck, even de-fanged it would still hurt. It’s freaky to see, but i this case I don’t think the baby is in any danger.
@DancesWithCobras – if they sewed the snake’s mouth shut, it would starve to death. Wouldn’t that kind of put an end to the snake charmer’s livelihood??
Actually, they will usually sew the snake’s mouth shut. Less work than devenomization.
Its important to teach children respect and gain experience from as early on as possible – so there isn’t a horrible accident later.
I guess its kinda like nomadic people who put their toddlers on horses. Its a way of life.
Fangs and venom sacks are removed from the snakes in many cases. When not removed a snake charmer or owner stays out of bite range unless the snake is in control.
Might put out the kid’s eye though – those strikes are pretty quick ;o.
I thought Cobra’s were venomous? Am I missing something here, people (parents?) talking in the background thinking it was cute? Maybe it is time to buy a rattle?
