Baby Backpack

While it is certainly important to have your child securely fastened into the backpack, it’s also essential that he child can breath…

I’ve seen this before…It’s just a sunshield, and it is open on the side for baby to breathe…Since baby is face inward anyway, his/her head is surely turned to one side or the other.

Yeah, this is not a parent fail. This is a sleeping hood that keeps the baby’s head from falling backward while sleeping. You can’t tell from this photo, but there is plenty of room for air and the child is not in danger in any way. Dads who wear their babies are great dads! The baby carrier in the photo is called an Ergo and it’s a great carrier.

Babsie and Melissa are 100% correct. My wife and I have that exact carrier. The child is being protected from the sun, not suffocated. There’s plenty of room to breathe. This guy is a good parent, not a bad one.

This is one of the nicest, most expensive baby carriers you can buy, and one of the few ones my son slept in.

This is an ergo baby carrier and works very nicely. The baby faces towards to parents back, not out, and there is lots of room to breath.

He’s doing nothing wrong. Next thing you know, people will say you’re a bad parent for putting them in a carseat. I use a different style carrier, but the child is clearly faced inward. Personal experience for me means that the baby will have his/her head turned to one side. It’s just more comfortable than having your nose smashed into someone’s face or chest.

To Mandie Amber and barbie….your all stupid, how can the baby breathe in the small space not to mention that the small space and the hot weather…think about it, would you like that being hot and sweaty and not be able to breathe???

I see nothing wrong. Would rather kids be carried around like this than attached to those stupid leashes.

You people and your carriers, you talk and act as if you are carrying around a purse or a shopping bag, Its a child you are all talking about and i think you should probably touch the little guy once in a while instead of making sure you have both hand free so you can browse through merchandise or talk on your cell phones.

“i hate dumb people,” you should realize that you are obligated to hate yourself. How can it be so hot if people are wearing denim pants for one? Also, babies get burned easily, ESPECIALLY on the top of their head. When you get sunburned, you severely increase your chances of overheating. That’s why people in the military keep their clothes on in hot, sunny weather. Do you even have children? Because it sure doesn’t seem that way, and I hope you never do. And when you try to claim that people are “stupid,” try to make your sentences at least relatively close to grammatically correct.

Baby carriers have been used for hundreds if not, thousands of years. As for John saying you need to touch your child, you can touch a person without putting your hands on them. Children who are kept close to their parents learn to walk sooner and grow to be well adjusted adults. (Take a few courses in Human Growth and Development and Psychology before you contradict me.)
It’s very obvious the baby is facing the father’s back, the head is resting on the shield so the baby’s face is not smushed into his back, and there is ample breathing room via the side gaps. This child will have a much better bond with his/her father than any of those protesting the use of the carrier.
