As for John saying you need to touch your child, you can touch a person without putting your hands on them. Children who are kept close to their parents learn to walk sooner and grow to be well adjusted adults. (Take a few courses in Human Growth and Development and Psychology before you contradict me.) It's very obvious the baby is facing the father's back, the head is resting on the shield so the baby's face is not smushed into his back, and there is ample breathing room via the side gaps. When you get sunburned, you severely increase your chances of overheating. That's why people in the military keep their clothes on in hot, sunny weather. Do you even have children? Because it sure doesn't seem that way, and I hope you never do. Next thing you know, people will say you're a bad parent for putting them in a carseat. I use a different style carrier, but the child is clearly faced inward. Personal experience for me means that the baby will have his/her head turned to one side. It's just more comfortable than having your nose smashed into someone's face or chest.
