The story behind this picture is that the person who sent it to me believes this baby is too young to be on a boat. I am not really sure I agree. So, once again I will leave it up to you to decide.

Putting into consideration the fact that it is a pontoon, and the lack of a wake, coupled with the chances of being on the receiving end of a mid pacific rogue wave while on a small inland lake, I’d say the baby is plenty damned safe.

The baby isn’t to young to be on a boat but it is required to have a life jacket on until they hit a certain age (think it’s 15 or 16) they even make them small enough for newborns. However the adult does NOT have to wear one, just has to have one within reach for each adult on the boat.
We have two boats and took our youngest out for the first time when he was less than 3 months old. He and his brother who was 4 at the time both wore life vests and do each and every time they get on the boat.

No one needs a life vest on a pontoon boat. Thing goes a whopping 2mph.

Yep, the fail is not the baby on a boat, it’s that the baby and the daddy don’t have life vests!

It’s only a parent fail bc the baby has no life vest, nor does the adult, for that matter.
