I didn’t say the photo was FROM the 70′s or 80′s, just that these sort of photos were common then, I have seen quite a few of them, most often with lion cubs, but occasionally black leopards too. the can is often drugged to make it sleepy and docile, but I still doubt it’s a shop.

Heidi, does this look it was taken in the 70′s and 80′s? No. And how do you know for sure that it wasn’t photoshoped, Ben came up with valid reasons that would imply that it was.

The fact that it was photoshoped is not out of the relem of posibility, but neither is the fact that it’s real, like you say. We’ll never know fur sure tho, since it is the internet…

It’s not a photoshop, these photos were pretty common in the 70′s and 80′s . Photographers would set up in malls and the like and offer portraits with big cats, most often lion cubs. It is not some wild lion waiting to pounce on the poor terrified toddler. The cat is more than likely drugged, and kids get afraid of things. Would it be a parenting fail to photograph a child with a dog, or a cow, or something else they are unsure of? It is simply a child pictured being unsure, or afraid of something, that isn’t bad parenting.

The child was not in the original photo. This was done with Photoshop or one of its relatives.

Look closely. The lion casts a shadow; the child does not. The “chain” that the child is holding doesn’t match what’s on the lion. The links are different size/shape/color and are blurry. There is also a faint “aura” and smudging all around the child.

It’s good work, I’ll give you that. And pretty funny. But it’s fake.

Reminds me of a snorkeling session in the Dolphin Reef Eilat when a little girl that age was scared to death of the idea to go floating face down above 15 yards of ocean water with 9 huge dolphins without her parents who kept PUSHING the crying child with remarks that basically blackmail her into doing it: Make mommy and daddy proud…
Did mommy and daddy join her into the water? No. Did the guide think this was good parenting? No. Did the parents consider listening to the crying kid and the guide? Nah, they paid 50 bucks after all…
