I don’t think it’s photoshopped, though it does appear that the photographer took the picture at a very odd angle, possibly making the baby appear higher than it really was. Also, it appears that Dad is laying on his back, not kneeling…which makes it even worse, in my opinion. Sadly, I know far too many people who do this.
@kathlaca -That’s so sad I know a few people who have unintentionally injured their children by tossing them, as well as by spinning them around by the hands or feet to make them “fly,” but thankfully nothing so serious has happened. One little boy ended up with dislocated shoulders and an elbow, which led to multiple surgeries and now arthritis (or something similar) in his elbow at the age of 4, when he was “flying” by his hands…and my friend’s little girl was 5 months old when her father tossed her and she hit her head on a ceiling fan, the ceiling fan was on and she ended up having a little bit of hair pulled out and a large bump and scrapes on her head, but luckily nothing worse than that. Parents (or anyone in contact with children) really need to learn to use some common sense!
so not obviously photoshopped – Dad is on his knees – note the height of the bed frame and children beside him, so the person taking the photo is also down low taking the photo at an angle. That is why the proportions look odd and any photo taken during the apex of a toss is going to look like the object is ‘floating.’ I find it sadly more believable that some asshat would toss their baby, then someone bothering to make a photoshopped picture of that.
Years ago when I was a foster parent, we saw a beautiful 7 month old baby boy. He was born perfect, but ended up blind, deaf, and fed from a stomach tube. Why, because his parents dropped him when they tossed him!
