I used a harness and leash on my first child because she’d take off running, right into the street. Only had to use it twice. If she didn’t stop, I’d jerk down on the leash, making her sit suddenly. Third time, she stopped at the curb, waited for me, and reached for my hand to cross the street. Smart 2 year old!

Really, the set up should be a training item only!

I’ve used the harness/leash on my daughter. She was 18mos at the time, we were on a lay over during a Cross Canada flight, at Pearson Airport. It’s very busy, and it would have been criminal to force her into a stroller after being forced to sit for 4hrs already. So, I put a harness on her and let her wander around safe and sound. I didn’t pull her around or anything..If anything she dragged ME around lol.

This happened right down the street from my house, it was on the news. The mother was arrested for child endangerment. When questioned as to why she did it, she said she was very sick and the kid wouldn’t stop screaming…so she dragged him around the store (as if THAT helped!).

This is unacceptable. I am 23, and not yet a mother, though my boyfriend has a 6 year old little girl. I can’t imagine EVER dragging her around like that– it’s just cruel. Be a parent, pick up your damn kid, and remove him from the store!

I didnt ever leash my child, but I did spank him, ONLY if he was bad. BUT I would say that had I leashed him-I don’t think I’d drag him through a store. UNLESS everytime we went somewhere he was falling down expecting to get (the wrong kinf) of attention from me. Then yes-I’d ignore his behaviour and keep on walkin….This lady on the other hand just seemes pissed….

When i was like 3 i was put on a leash/harness type thing but it was for my own could as i loved sprinting off away from my parents and doing my own thing like touch everything
