This is absolutely disgusting. They are children! It’s nasty (in the bad way) when adults dance like this (well, it’s not dancing, it’s dryhumping), but when they get their kids to do it?!? Oh yes, what a great idea, let’s MAKE SURE our daughters grow up to be sluts…

Comment from Babsiegirl
Time: October 13, 2009, 11:02 am

This is just offensive. These parents should be arrested.

WTF??? Can´t believe someone would actually teach kids this…
It must be one of the best teenage pregnancy trainings.

Thank god for parents like this!
I commend them from not shaming their children for their sexuality.
THAT’S RIGHT! CHILDREN ARE SEXUAL!
It’s human nature. Get over it.

umm…pedophiles rejoice? Seriously…I can’t think of any way this could be seen as positive. At least the kids aren’t….starving to death? I’ve got nothing.

Comment from Tami

The parents should be arrested for child abuse and pornography.

Comment from Vincent
Time: October 16, 2009, 3:10 am

This a common popular dance in Brazil. Although they have a long history of suggestive and more explicit dances, the trend of these days is that both lyrics and movements have become very explicit.

Deplorable? Yes.
Exceptional? No.

looks like a birthday party and if the parents were there they would do something.

Comment from Marcela Ortiga

If you had a little bit of intelligence, would know that in Brasil WE don´t speak spanish, wich is the language spoken on the video, THIS is not a tipical dance in Brasil, its not part of our history (I believe you only know about carnaval, that happens once a year and its NOT what they show in the tv) and I was shocked when I watched this video, and i´m from BRASIL. Vincent, you´re an idiot.

Comment from Viviane

This video is not from Brazil..
Listen carefully.

When I saw the title I thought, “Oh, Dirty Dancing, like the movie” and I thought it would be some parent having her kids reenact one of the scenes. I am in shock.

Comment from Ebonee Hackett

This is so crass. I was so appalled when I viewed this. As a mother of 6 I wouldn’t ever expose my children to such abuse!

Comment from Cindy
Time: October 19, 2009, 11:12 am

This is either in the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico. And I’m sorry but KIDS aren’t sexual at 8 years of age STFU! This is LEARNED behavior, and kids LEARN by example. They aren’t BORN with the instinct to dry hump!

Comment from Liz

Comment from Micaela
Time: October 29, 2009, 8:52 pm

I am so appalled…I think the children were put up to this. Even if this kind of dancing is part of some cultures, it is adult oriented and is terrible to have the kids doing this! Not very cool at all, I will be so ashamed if these people belong to my culture, which judging from the video and dialect, they might.

Comment from hahahaha
Time: November 3, 2009, 1:47 pm

The only possible reason I can think of for the parents to teach their kids this, is to watch and get it off to it later because they’re screwed up. I don’t care if “kids are sexual gtfo!1!!” theres still something not right about teaching your kids to dance like this and watching them…

What the heck are you talking about? They are not even dancing to Rap they are dancing to something else.
And they’re speaking Spanish, which makes me ashamed…so gross.

But OBVIOUSLY they’re parents are there encouraging it. So they were there, there were no butt whoopings being given, the baby was even taken out of the way to allow the older children to keep dancing. Appalling.

Comment from wtf
Time: November 25, 2009, 8:25 am

Well, Mr Oh STFU, if you watch carefully, you’d realize that these children don’t even know much of what they’re doing. It is completely repulsive, these adults should be…hanged or something.
It is completely and utterly appalling.

Just. F***ing. Sick.

KittyKat – Oh. My. Freaking. God. That’s out of order. Why these so-called parents teach these poor innocent children into doing some filthy freaking piece of crap. That’s a massive parenting fail.

i thougt that it was kinda cute in a way it is a type of culture dacing and people have diff culture who r we to say this is wrong even though it is a lil mest up with the lil kids and stuff i dance like that i think that that type of dancing is for older kids like me the range of 13-up but it was truly not that bad seeing other dancing that people do around the world they who have not sined cast the first stone (Jesus)and if u have never sinned then u can judge these kids but i think all of u have sinned soo wat eva it was just dancing but i lil diff then wat ur use too

Comment from disgusted human
Time: December 29, 2009, 3:20 am

Did anyone notice a PARENT/ADULT grinding on one of the kids? Utterly deplorable. This is not appropriate for any child or teenager to be doing. Sharon, it appears that NO ONE is judging the kids. They are judging the parents for teaching their kids this. They were TAUGHT that. I highly doubt anyone can seriously say this was some kind of tribal dance.

The parents need their tubes/scrotums ripped out/off and they need to be lynched in the streets.

Comment from Andrew (not real name)

Comment from a REAL MOM
Time: December 29, 2009, 9:09 am

to anyone trying to defend these disgustingly grosse actions: wake the hell up. this isnt okay not in the hills or the ghetto. this is wrong. there’s nothing ‘cultural’ or ‘traditional’ about any of this. they are clearly ‘freaking’/booty dancing. its not cultural. hell with who’s sinned or not. that doesn’t right this low life act and way of life that these sad excuses for parents have taught their children. its just so foul. theres nothing cute or funny or cool or happening about little kids dancing like strippers/gogo dancers. im guessing their parents are all messed up low life sluts. theyll all be having sex really soon and pregnant at 10. this is just so disgusting. these parents, these moms need to the death penalty. real quick. and these kids they need to see a dr and get fixed because they are clearly damaged. ewwwww. i mean just ewww.

Comment from MYOB
Time: January 1, 2010, 5:15 pm

First of all, this was probably taped in the dominican republic or puerto rico. I’m of dominican descent so dialect sounds familiar to me. The fact that this was allowed is appalling. My family would never allow such behavior. This dancing is not traditional. At least not in the Dominican Republic. Probably is Jamaica but I doubt it. If you listen carefully, the music in the background is clearly reggae. The kids probably learned to dance like this from older siblings, their parents or even simpy from watching television. I’m going to assume most of you thought their parents taught them this which is acceptable. I’m guessing some of the kids started freaking before they started recording because they thought it was funny or even cute (because this does happen) and then the parents (thinking it would be cool to tape) started recording it. Believe it or not, recording anything in this culture is a luxury so the fact that they did it was just to show off that they have a video camera. I’m guessing they posted the video themselves because of the youtube craze that has been going on. Now I’m not at all defending this. I’m simply trying to point out that poor education, plus a video camera and internet access leads people to do crazy things. Go on youtube, I’m pretty sure you’ll find some pretty appalling videos on there. This is poor parenting but it is coupled with all the factors that I stated earlier. Go to the Dominican Republic, pull out a video camera and tell everyone to do something funny or even dirty. I bet you the majority will jump at the opportunity to be recorded and do something ridiculous. Don’t think for one second that these kids are innocent. They knew how to grind or get down from the get go. There just needed to be video camera present for it to get out of hand. Take it for what it’s worth. Just think before you post next time. It’s really annoying to read some of your thoughts.

I think that the kids should keep on doing this. I know they are geting nasty but kids are kids if you know what I mean. They want to get nasty, and nasty is what they should be if they like it or not.

Actually, Clairre, there´s no spelling mistake … Brasil is the correct way in wich brasilian people (as well as other latin languages speaking people) spell the name of their country… I should know, I´m from Argentina.

Looking at it from both sides of the spectrum you have to understand we may view it as disturbing and disgusting (which i personally agree with as a person and a mother) but with my job i have to say shockingly enough this apart of Dominican society

I didn’t even know what to say when I saw this! For one this is beyond disgusting for their age! The parents shouldn’t be proud and laughing about it…and the kids shouldn’t even know to dance that way! I mean for young adults and adults that dancing is fun and great…but for their age!!! Parents need to get into trouble. Also the mother or whatever does not need to be dancing dirty up on some little child…wtf is wrong with these people!

Comment from woo woo!
Time: May 27, 2010, 7:45 pm

Hey people, why is everybody ganging up on Vincent? he didn’t say the video took place in Brazil, he just said it’s similar. I completely agree, I’m half Brazilian half Dominican and for many people in central and south america this *is* normal. I used to dance that way when I was little too, at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club in the Bronx. And honestly when you are like 9 years old you don’t even see it as being dirty, you just think that’s what makes you a good dancer, because that’s what makes people clap harder and cheer for you, when you dance crazy on the floor and on the wall and stuff. The fact that it’s a dance contest makes all the more sense to me, since the kids were probably just dancing hard to show who is the best dancer. They have no clue of the meaning of the moves, it’s you all that are putting your judgements on the movements to make them appear sexual. They probably learned that from their older siblings or teenagers at school, on tv, or at reggaeton dance parties. Dance is a huge part of the culture in D.R. so it’s not that big of a deal at all. Also, people in those countries tend to be very outgoing and it’s considered a negative to be shy and reserved, which is why your parents will egg you on to perform and be outgoing. And not everyone who dances like this at 9 years old ends up a slut by the way. It’s just a different culture and this kid dancing is not considered sexual and taboo the way it is in American culture.
