Give me a break. He’s holding onto his son’s *closed* coat. And we don’t know how long the kid was up there for. No parent can tell me that they haven’t put their kid up on something while holding onto them for the kid to get a better view of something.

Don’t think the deed is that dangerous, as long as the parent pays attention. However I suggest grammatically, the sentence should read “doing exactly the same thing”
