Swine Flu

I’m not convinced this is a true parent fail. I think we are all a bit too over sanitized these days and a little pig snout (or dirt or any number of other things) isn’t going to kill us. At the same time, you aren’t going to come in much closer contact with a pig than this at a time the swine flu is spreading and while the chances that this particular pig is a carrier, would you really want to take that chance?

Even though the germ factor is pretty high, I’m worried about the kid’s physical safety. Pigs can be mean. I know people who have big scars from getting bit by pigs!

This is unsanitary anyways, even without the swine flu numbers rapidly spreading. But it’s a fact that pigs kill more people than sharks . . .

You don’t get the current swine flu from pigs anyway. H1N1 virus is refered to as a swine flu because it has a genetic marker indicating that at some point in the past it went through swine. Flu mutates constantly, that’s what makes it so hard to combat. Even flu shots are based only on a guess as to which types of flu will be in the area durring ‘flu season’.

Pigs don’t actually spread swine flu. The name is a misnomer.
