Some parent missed the part of the instructions on the child seat warning that improper use is more unsafe than not using the seat at all. “Nearly a third of children ride in the wrong restraints for their age and size. Recent data from the Crash Injury Research & Engineering Network indicate that inappropriately restrained children are nearly three and a half times more likely to be seriously injured than their appropriately restrained counterparts.” National SAFE KIDS Campaign

Lucky kid. We didn’t even have car seats when I was a kid–thankfully. We had a seat that hooked onto the back of the seat and I survived. BFD.
Children DO wiggle out of their harnesses often…my little brother was 2 and he was able to push the button on the car seat, pull his arms from the straps and somehow managed to pull himself over the straps and look out the window. Of course, we immediately put him back in but don’t be ignorant people. Children will do anything they put their minds too. And a car seat is an easy feat to conquer to a toddler. Least they put him in the seat to begin with!
My 5yr old was able to tell me what’s wrong with this picture…He showed me on himself where the straps are supposed to go.
If a child wiggles out of their harness…FIX IT!!! If they undo their harness…FIX IT!!!
This isn’t a game. A child WILL DIE left in a harness improperly done. Children die EVERYDAY because their parents don’t care enough about the law or their safety to make sure they have their harnesses correctly done or seats installed correctly. They take chances EVERYDAY with the life they have created and say they love. If the pay attention they can make sure the child stays buckled correctly, fix it if they don’t and explain to the child that the rules are LEAVE IT ALONE.
Proud mother of a 3yr old Rear-facing in a Britax Boulevard and a 5yr old in a 5 point harness Graco Nautilaus!
Whoopie. I had a chair that hung over the back of the seat and I survived.
his straps clearly come from below his shoulders when they should be above his shoulders since he’s FF and how do you know there parked and not just stoped at a light so many people actualy drive like this because there to lazy to do it right or car more about the kid being comfy
“I’m sorry but if the harness was tight and at the correct height position like it should be and they weren’t using after market harness covers the child shouldn’t be able to get out of the harness”
I completely DISAGREE. I have seen properly harnessed kids, belt tight and clip in the correct place, be able to move the clip down and wedge their arms up. I also know a child who continually unbuckles the bottom and slides out!!
I’m sorry but if the harness was tight and at the correct height position like it should be and they weren’t using after market harness covers the child shouldn’t be able to get out of the harness
Maybe they’re parked and not driving around since you can see the car parked next to it?
The kids clearly wiggled out of his harness, as so many of them can and do. I would think the only parent fail hear was photographing it so others could get their hands on it an toss around ignorant judgment.
What`s the problem? Couldn`t he reach the gear change? Was it an automatic?
